RSI below 30 or above 70. One of the oldest signals and still one of the most reliable for mean reversion on the daily.
A faster-reacting RSI that applies the stochastic formula. Both %K and %D must confirm before a signal fires — reducing false positives.
When the MACD line crosses the signal line. Picks up momentum shifts early, usually before the move is obvious on the chart.
20-day EMA crossing the 50-day. Slower-moving, but when it triggers, it tends to precede sustained moves.
Price hitting the upper or lower Bollinger Band. In ranging conditions, it's a fade. In trending ones, it can be a continuation.
Volume at 2× or more of the 20-day average, paired with a price move of at least 1%. Volume confirms that the move has conviction behind it.
Hammer candle after a downtrend (buyers absorbed selling at the low). Shooting star after an uptrend (sellers rejected price at the high). Both require trend context to fire.
When a candle's body fully swallows the prior bar. Bullish engulfing after a pullback, bearish after a rally. One of the cleanest momentum-shift signals in candlestick analysis.
Price makes a new low, RSI makes a higher low — selling momentum is fading. Or price makes a new high, RSI makes a lower high — buying momentum is losing steam. Classic leading indicator.
